At Kenya Youth Federation (KYF), we believe that youth entrepreneurship is not just a pathway to employment, it is a catalyst for socioeconomic development and sustainable growth. As part of our ambitious 2-Year Program, we are launching targeted initiatives to support young entrepreneurs in unlocking their potential, creating jobs, and driving innovation across Kenya.
Why Entrepreneurship Matters
With Kenya’s youth facing high unemployment rates and limited economic opportunities, entrepreneurship offers a transformative solution. By equipping young people with business skills, access to financing, and mentorship, KYF empowers them to build enterprises that address local challenges while fostering economic independence. Youth businesses play a critical role in reducing poverty, boosting community development, and inspiring the next generation of changemakers.
KYF’s Entrepreneurship Goals
Through our upcoming 2-Year Program, KYF aims to:
- Establish 5,000 youth-led enterprises across key sectors, including agriculture, technology, creative industries, and green businesses.
- Provide comprehensive entrepreneurship training and mentorship to youth from all 47 counties, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities.
- Foster innovation through initiatives such as hackathons, business boot camps, and a Youth Innovation Hub to incubate and accelerate promising ideas.
- Facilitate access to micro-financing and venture capital by partnering with financial institutions, government agencies, and private investors.
- Equip youth with digital marketing and financial literacy skills, enabling them to navigate modern business challenges.
Our Impact So Far
KYF has already made significant strides, training over 5,000 youths in technology and business skills in partnership with organizations like Ajira Kenya and Ivo Africa. These programs have laid the groundwork for empowering more young entrepreneurs to contribute to Kenya’s economic development.
